Research and
Development
- Assist in creative design
- Investigate alternative materials for precision equipment
- Investigate radiant temperature sensing technologies and summarize

Analysis
- Perform "rotor dynamics"
analysis and finite element analysis
- Monitor and analyze turbomachinery
vibration, working with Expert Systems
- Perform tests and evaluate chemical
analysis data report;support field operations
- Analyze possible solutions to electrical
control panel problems; work with field personnel
- Develop pressure/velocity relationships
for various offices
- Support ISO 9000 effort by reviewing
current systems and identifying improvements
- Develop and apply multivariable linear regression for determining

Design
- Analyze, test performance data vs. design
parameters and perform basic design of components

- Assist engineers in designing pipeline
systems; work with construction staff

introduction, working with manufacturing
- Perform system design, integration
and documentation
- Develop mechanical packaging for
electronic communication projects
Testing
- Test NC machines tools, analyze design
problems and make recommendations
- Evaluate and compare performance of
equipment procured from various vendors
- Test heat exchangers and compare performance with
expectations
- Fabrication and testing of engineering
projects
Computer Systems
- Assist in implementing a graphics display
software program
- Quantify and evaluate test results, using
a computer model
- Design a web interface for software
systems
- Develop imaging arrays (a real-time re-configurable CSLI chip with
micro-miniature optics and analog video readout)
- Develop algorithm,
write code
and do architectural
optimization
- Design and populate databases
Cost Reduction
- Standardize cost reduction procedures
while increasing quality and reliability
- Generate a tool tracking system; calculate value and
consolidate supplier information
- Analyze water use and suggest improvement
to use less water during production
- Analyze inventory and recommend
modifications to reduce costs
Manufacturing
- Interpret design data, develop
manufacturing processes and communicate work instructions
- Improve manufacturing performance by
introducing new production efficiency techniques
- Write preventive maintenance work orders
for manufacturing equipment
- Create and update production, vendor and
sales drawing for a product line
- Provide daily support to manufacturing and
shop floor by developing work instructions
- Evaluate operational efficiency and
improve design and manufacturing techniques
- Provide line support to just in time /
total quality control production cells
Civil Engineering
- Perform scheduling, sampling and report
writing in the Environmental Department
- Provide technical support on bridge and
road design
- Research drawings to locate underground
utility lines and create a database
- Perform a variety of civil engineering
contract assignments, e.g.: quality surveys, quality control, progress certification
